Now in other news about my day to day life. I’ve been keeping music a prominent aspect in my life outside of academics and sport. I think DJing is actually really a good outlet for me because I can share the music that I enjoy with everyone. Thats why I think it sucks more when you miss out on opportunities that can get you a bigger audience. But still, if you entertain those that are listening, then ultimately that should give me the same satisfaction. So this is the link to my DJ/Producer page. I feel music needs to make people feel things and experience feelings outside of reality. Hopefully this I can help them achieve this from my perspective of Feel good music.
I would like to bring everyone’s attention to this craze which I am quite confidently assuming everyone’s attention has already been brought too. ‘Gangnam Style’ by PSY, a korean singer, is the most recent global hit that resembled the kind of growth that Justin Bieber got when his second single ‘Baby’ hit earspace. Now, the reason I write this is not to judge the song but point out a particular characteristic of music that I love; its “no-borders” feature. Although there are many other great examples, as everyone can most probably relate too it, I will use this song.
In the current period of time, the dance and electronic music dominates the radios, festivals, people and the music market. Gangnam Style rightly so falls into this theme as it is a very upbeat, catchy and addictive tune. However, the biggest thing to take from it is that it is sung completely in Korean. Aside from those that understand Korean, the translation is not known until it is looked up (usually on Google). This is what brings me to my point. Everywhere around the world, people are crazy over this song, it is being played on TV shows, at weddings, at festivals at shops. People are even singing along IN KOREAN yet still have no idea what is being said. (Check out PSY performing on Australian X Factor on the 17/10/12) The pure joy and fun that can come from music regardless of its origin is awesome in my opinion.
My take on this that is my overall point, is that Music is so good that it can be in absolutely any form, genre or type yet still bring emotion, feeling and entertainment to any one that can hear it’s sound.
So I thought it would be good to establish a list of things I want to do in the years I have ahead of me. So here are a list of things that I hope to achieve before I die. Obviously I will edit them as I think of new things and also blog about the ones I complete. I’m considering it a bucket list because who truly knows when there time is up. Life’s to short to wait. Just Be Ready, Be Set and then Go.
1. Be a person of power & influence
2. Make money to allow myself and my family to live that much better
3. Bachelor Degree
4. Study Law
5. Travel to Europe
6. Travel to South America
7. Learn 3 Languages other than English
8. Bungee Jump
9. Live in an Apartment in a Big City for a period of time
10. Design my own house
11. Drive the Dream
12. Install the Room of sound
13. Gamble in Las Vegas
14. Walk along the Great Wall of China
15. Fly First Class
16. See the Pyramids
17. Win 3 Championships in official sport competition
18. Publish a Book
19. OWN a house (not just buy one)
20. Buy a New Car
21. Work in an individual office
22. Produce a song for a signed artist
23. Go to Clutch Playoff Finals game.
24. Celebrate my 50th birthday at the same time as my Kid’s 18th/21st
25. Achieve at least 24 of the last 25 things.
I cannot believe how important money is even at my age! ahahah You would think that money becomes an issue when your pushing for a house, car and supporting your adult life. But even at my age when you only want to go out, play sport and just be young, money is still so dam significant. But hopefully this attitude I take towards money (i.e being stingy by not spending and saving as much) will help towards traveling which hopefully is on the agenda in the next year!!!!!
note to future self: Money becomes relevant around 17.
Oh so true. If I had the choice, I would have told Zuckerberg to bring Facebook after university days! Oh well. Time to hit the books again, put aside all distractions and work towards improving the almighty GPA and better my chances at law school/future ambitions.
When your younger it’s aspirations that drive you to do things. You set your eyes on a target whether it be to go somewhere, be something, do something and you work towards it. Growing up you have room to make mistakes and room to change what you aspire to be. This mobility is rather advantageous in the strive for success and satisfaction. However I think I’m in a time now that my mobility of aspiring has decreased. I need to set my heading and start moving because time is extremely short. It feels like yesterday I was at school mucking around and having fun. But 2 years later, I don’t feel Ive achieved anything. So from here on out I must work hard to ensure that I will be set for life. Its not a big ask, just changing daily attitudes and the level of interaction with habits. So I guess my new aspiration is to succeed in my aspiration which I’ve decided is to finish my undergraduate, finish a JD/Bachelor of Law and find a job that can allow me to enjoy 20s/30s and set me up for future success. Hopefully whatever drives parents and people well in the latter end of their working careers becomes clear so I can take some of that ethic onboard.
Honestly think my crazy amazing dog of a pet, Zorro, is just a big help mentally. It always good to have another living being that provides you with affection and you can feel at peace when I am with him. Never fails to keep me entertained and I love him to death!
P.s Zorro was named after the legendary zorro. When he was born he had white rings around his eyes, made it look like zorro’s mask! ahaha
Just saw this picture on my phone which was taken on one of my recent trips to melbourne. No specific memories attached to it, but this is one of the heights of the worlds beauty. It goes to show how far and unlimited of a nature this world has for us.
So this year’s annual youth conference was in Melbourne in the probably the furthest location from the airport. Drive was too long for life. But just to quickly go over what I took most from this was the idea between balancing social being and religious life. Although this obviously was not the main theme being discussed, the questions brought up made me see the relation between youth culture/lifestyles and religious and how to go about answering questions in this area. To be conclusive, I believe that it is important to maintain a belief in religion, as I do, but I don’t feel the need to go overboard with exhausting levels of worship and actions but rather enough to bring about a peace of mind and a feeling of closeness to beliefs. This is enough, the rest of life can be left for socializing and living as you always dreamed of. As long as you maintain a balance, you will take the best of both worlds. It was also pretty good to catch up with the crew from Melbourne and hopefully will see them in the future more often! Till next year I guess!

Its a legitimate question. Sometimes you get to a point where you might question do you want to continue living through the now or just speed past and go to later. But then you have to take into consideration whats in between. Later is only determined by what is done now, so if you speed past, later might not be what you had imagined because something happened in between. So Now or Later? hmm.
